Lots of Change

As you can see from picture number one, things in mine and Emily's life have changed drastically. We are not sure exactly how it happened but Emily is now pregnant. For some reason in pre-marital counseling they told you it could happen but didn't go into much detail. All jokes aside, we are pumped. Emily is going to be an amazing mom. We're still trying to figure out how I am going to do.

So our first anniversary is this weekend. I definitely hit it out of the park when it came to first anniversary gifts. However, everyones first response is good luck trying to top that one every year. The way I look at it is now Emily has to think of ways to top me.

Other than that things are going well. Over the past couple of months we actually have gotten to spend a lot of time with family. We visited Emily's family in Pilot Point, went back to Dallas to celebrate Mom-mom and Grandads 70th birthdays, as well as to watch my mom and "sister" Emily run in a half marathon. Basically just preparing our lives for the huge change coming in September.

Denver is doing good as well!!!

February

February was good month! Emily and I went with my parents to Steamboat Spring Colorado. It was an awesome trip! Only one problem...

Besides that we had an AWESOME time! We skied and explored the city of Steamboat. There was a winter carnival going on. One event they did involved pulling kids in skis behind a horse going about 50 mphs.

When Emily goes on vacation she likes to do one thing....

The trip was great! We had a lot of fun with my parents and definitely want to repeat that trip! We also went to Austin for the Austin City Marathon. It was a fun weekend as well. Especially for me since I didn't have to suffer through the half marathon run! Emily, her mom and her sister trained for a couple of months and did really well!

Life I said... February was a great month! Especially since I didn't have to run 13.1 miles!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Traditions

Christmas #1 has come and gone... It was awesome! This year for us it was not about starting new traditions but about starting OUR traditions.

Tradition #1 - Emily grew up always having an artificial tree, I grew up always having a real Christmas tree. Round 1 goes to Matt. Not only did we have a real Christmas tree but we went to the tree farm, picked it out and cut it down ourselves. We had a blast, we went to a tree farm just north of Katy. We were definitely not the norm considering most people had 5 to 10 year old kids running around. But we definitely didn't care, we had a blast.

Tradition #2... Emily did the tree decoratng, hints why it looks awesome! I tried and lasted about 5 mins.

Tradition #3... Decorate the house with Christmas lights. This was not a tradition that we did growing up, but Emily did. It was fun... We bought an AWESOME wreath at Home Depot that is hanging in the front window.

Tradition #4... Sending out Christmas cards. Note to guys who aren't married yet... when you get married and have your first Christmas together THIS IS A BIG DEAL! We went back or forth with this one. Well, I guess it was more like Emily wanted to and my thoughts were "no one looks at those things." End result = Emily put them together and they were great! What did I learn from this? Christmas cards are a big deal!

Christmas #1 = SUCCESS!!!

Sold!!!!!!!!!

So Friday, Emily and I will officially become home owners! We are so excited. We found a brand new home in Cinco Ranch in Katy, TX. Yes, we are living in the suberbs. Originally it wasn't our first choice but after going out there and looking and finding the lot we did we realized it was perfect for our first house! It is a Pulte home, on a good sized culd-a-sac lot. Denver and Buddy are going to love. NO MORE PENS DURING THE DAY FOR THEM!!!! Our free time lately has consisted of interior decorating, which is suprisingly hard without actually living in the house yet.

There is now only one Emily Saller

August 7th Emily and Matt got married. It was a great weekend and wedding. Emily and I left Thursday night and drove to Fort Worth and then rode with Mom-mom and Grandad to Abilene on Friday morning. For lunch on Friday the girls had a bridal lunch, while the guys went to Harolds. I definitely missed me some Harolds! The wedding was Sunday at Hillcrest Church of Christ and the reception was at Lytle. It was a beautiful wedding! It was good for my Emily and I because we got to have a mini vacation and attend our first wedding together that wasn't ours.

Emily and Matt went to the Riviera Maya, same area that my Emily and I went. They then came back and decided to get a puppy. When picking up the pup they decided to get 2. Meet Suzy and North. I am not sure they realize what they are in for.

Being Married for 2 Months = Awesome!

So Emily and I got married about 2 months ago (May 29th). Since then our lives have consisted of moving to Houston and loving life as a married couple. Houston is great! A whole lot better than everyone says it is. It's funny when you live in Dallas everyone hates on Houston and when you live in Houston everyone hates on Dallas. I'm actually a big fan of Houston. It's a very diverse city, a lot of different things to do, and the beach is right down the street! So far Emily and I have already made the Galveston beach trip twice. I didn't know what to expect at first, but it is a really nice beach that is kept up really well and is very clean.

We took the Denver and Buddy. They loved it. In fact we couldn't keep Denver out of the ocean!

Since we've been in Houston we've had a bunch of visitors. Emily's mom and sister, Hannah, came when we first moved in to attend their cousins wedding here in Houston. Then a couple of weeks later Hannah came by herself and spent a couple of days hanging out while her parents went to Canada. It was fun... we ate, ate some more and ate again! We also hit up Dave and Busters, where I dominated Emily and Hannah in video games!

I think Denver was the most excited to see Hannah!

But yea, so far Houston has been a blast! Onisa and Jeff came to visit for a night as well! And then last weekend Emily's friends Jessica and Emmy Jo came for the weekend. We went to the beach last weekend as well!

So I am starting this blog in hopes to keep a record of Emily and I together as a married couple!
